Will you be doing that post about having your blogroll only on your mainpage? You stated in this article you’d do it next week, but i can’t seem to find it anywhere. This article was great, so if you could get that one up on the blogroll, I’d be ecstatic Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Your post is a little misleading with regard to the rel=”external” attribute. The ‘external’ value is non standard and does not replace target=”blank” as a means of telling the browser to open the link in a new window.

In fact, there is currently no standards compliant way to tell the browser to open a link in a new window (without JavaScript).

Hi Mike, if you edit the HTML directly when you post, you can add the rel="nofollow" attribute in your link code . great site

I agree, I won’t be using joomla again. I’ll be moving over to wordpress or using Xsitepro2 for any affiliate sites.
Stuck with it for my blog, so ill try make it work

I’ve almost given up on Joomla, and typically will ask clients if they are willing to part with such a poor / security flawed CMS. Normally once I mention security they do it.

I have the same issue with Joomla. I recently did a post regarding nofollow tags on links such as Read More, Click here. But it’s a nightmare to manipulate links in the actual menu’s. Plus when doing a post and supplying a link, there is no real way of adding nofollow. Bit of a nightmare. Although think I got a plugin that may help.
