Will you be doing that post about having your blogroll only on your mainpage? You stated in this article you'd do it next week, but i can't seem to find it anywhere. This article was great, so if you could get that one up on the blogroll, I'd be ecstatic :) Thanks!

Hi Paul,

Your post is a little misleading with regard to the rel="external" attribute. The 'external' value is non standard and does not replace target="blank" as a means of telling the browser to open the link in a new window.

In fact, there is currently no standards compliant way to tell the browser to open a link in a new window (without JavaScript).

Hi Mike,
if you edit the HTML directly when you post, you can add the rel="nofollow" attribute in your link code .
great site

Thanks for the kind words Kieran.

I've almost given up on Joomla, and typically will ask clients if they are willing to part with such a poor / security flawed CMS. Normally once I mention security they do it.

Nice blog btw. , subbed to the RSS.

Cheers,
Paul

I have the same issue with Joomla. I recently did a post regarding nofollow tags on links such as Read More, Click here. But it's a nightmare to manipulate links in the actual menu's. Plus when doing a post and supplying a link, there is no real way of adding nofollow. Bit of a nightmare. Although think I got a plugin that may help.
Good post ..
