@John : thanks for your comment. I would write something directed at the DIGG audience. Or consider rewriting some previous article. Something, short, smart and of interest to what is happening now. For you for example if you had a list of the 10 most funniest lines when people asking about backups.

But remeber : Digg can be a double edge sword and can bring down your site if the story reaches the front page.

Hi Paul
Thanks for that, more please.
When using digg for this purpose do you recommend linking to articles within your site written specifically for digg or can existing articles which are linked from many places as good?

Thanks

Thanks for your comment Paul !

Digg can be a great tool , if used right, to make a completely new website will appear in the rankings. There are other ways of course, but this is something that anyone with a simple Digg account can do.

Now I don't recommend you submit your homepage to digg, rather if you have an interesting article or survey, something that diggers would actually like, it's worth submitting it.

I did a post similar to this a while back, one thing I've found personally that new site's can benefit from even appearing in Digg's index, as this can give quicker visibility in the SERPs, especially for "domain.com" searches when you are in the sandbox.

[...] Cormac Moylan’s announcement that Omniserve has a competitor for their Google Rapid Inclusion Tool caught my eye. I’ve been following Omniserve’s claims on how they get their clients into Google with particular interest so I wasn’t surprised to see someone launch FluffyLinkulator. If I can get the time I’ll probably do a full post on Omniserve’s Google Rapid Inclusion Tool and better ways on how to get a new site into search engines.
